On April 23, the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Rotary Foundation awarded two grants: $5,000 to HealthReach and $1,500 to Big Dreams for Little Hearts.
The grant to HealthReach was accepted by Executive Director Nancy Bock. HealthReach, which was a designated recipient of part of the proceeds from the Rotary Economic Breakfast held in March, is the only free medical clinic in Lake County.

Big Dreams for Little Hearts is a nonprofit foundation established by one of our own members, Ron Salski, who was present to receive the donation. Ron and his wife started the foundation after one of their daughters was diagnosed with an unusual condition that can cause serious heart arrhythmias and they were advised to keep an automated external defibrillator (AED) at home. The foundation helps purchase AEDs for families with children with heart rhythm problems who cannot afford the expensive device, which insurance usually does not cover.
