Building Together with Habitat for Humanity Lake County

Julie Donovan founded Habitat for Humanity Lake County in 1989 and serves as Executive Director. She is passionate in her work to the Building Homes, Building Community and Building Hope as she serves families through housing solutions. Her role includes developing and increasing resources for Habitat through marketing and public relations, fundraising, property acquisition and volunteer recruitment.

Julie worked as a Special Education teacher and has Masters Degree is in Educational Therapy. She completed the Non-Profit Management Program through the University of Illinois.

Julie served on the Board of Directors of Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity and she serves on Habitat International task forces to assist other affiliates throughout the United States. She served on the Community Coalition of YouthBuild Lake County, the Lake County Preservation Initiative and was Chair of the Waukegan Community Council.
