On July 16 we welcomed two old friends to our meeting: Ellen Young, our new District 6440 Governor (and former president of the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Noon Rotary Club); and Ninna Damberg, our 2012-2013 exchange student.

DG Ellen Young, who was president of our noon club several years ago, met with our Club Board and Directors on Tuesday evening and then spoke at breakfast on Wednesday. We learned about new initiatives in the bigger Rotary world and some of the ways our club might take part. It's always informative and inspiring when we're reminded that we're a part of something bigger!

Ninna Damberg and her family were visiting from Denmark, where her father is president of their local Rotary Club. Ninna gave a slide presentation about her re-integration into her home community after a full year abroad, and her two brothers spoke as well, saying that Ninna's experiences had motivated them to study abroad too. We enjoyed catching up with Ninna and meeting her family.
