Official Visit and District Update

Donald joined Rotary as a charter member of the  Algonquin Lake in Hills club in Algonquin, Illinois, District 6440, in 1992.

Donald was introduced to Rotary in 1984 when he spent a month in India, with his brother HB, on mission trip and was the featured speaker to present a program on the American Jurisprudence system.  That was his introduction to Rotary which has extended these many years to Service Above Self in his involvement in community outreach and not for profits.  Donald gives his time and efforts to these community groups and not for profits that lend aid to under resourced individuals whether they be in need of support for their organization's vision or support for those afflicted with disease, more particularly cancer.

Donald has served in every capacity of his Rotary club except for treasurer and has been President three (3) times in the 24 years the club has been in existence.  Donald has been an Assistant District Governor for several terms under several District Governors serving  District 6440 clubs, McHenry, Crystal Lake, Crystal Lake Dawnbreakers, Woodstock Noon, Woodstock Breakfast, Huntley, Cary, Dundee Twp, Lake in the Hills, Richmond/Spring Grove. At the District level he served as the District 6440 Membership Chair and is presently on the Midwest PETS Council.

Donald is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a charter Member of the Paul Harris Society, and a Major Donor of the Rotary Foundation.  In 2010 his entire family of 15 were Paul Harris recipients.

Donald is a graduate of the University of Iowa earning a BSEE and John Marshall Law School earning his JD degree. He is a practicing attorney licensed in the State of Illinois and Federal Courts as well as the United States Supreme Court. He regularly practices in Illinois Circuit and Appellate Courts and in Federal Courts in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Texas.  He is a licensed Patent Attorney, licensed to practice in the Patent, Trademark and Copyright offices of the US Patent Office. His main practice revolves around litigation where he has developed a specialty in the courtroom litigation arena.  He loves to be before the juries where he feels he connects with the people on the street.
